Autobiography

To God be the glory! In humbleness, I would like to introduce myself throughout this simple autobiography.

In 1980 I was naturally born at  Bacon Sorsogon, Philippines. second sibling of Miguel and Flor Ducay, raised  in Sta. Mesa Manila with my sister, Mary Jane and deaf elder brother, Miguel.

I Started drawing with a pencil at age of eleven with the influence of my childhood friend’s grandfather  “Lolo Sabdro”, who was a conservative painter, a journalist, a cyclist, an idealistic and a creative artist of miniature Bahay Kubo (a native Filipino house) made of broom sticks; likewise, I started to paint as well.

In 2021, I earned the degree of Bachelor Science in Criminology at the Philippine College of Criminology. Registered Criminologist in 2003.

Year 2002, together with my fellow artist guild members in members Church of God International, we were mentored by “Boy” Albutra at Tondo Manila. Albutra was a well-known artist/painter  in the long street of Mabini Manila, during the year 70s-90s. Eventually, he became overseas filipino worker. Late Albutra had contributed the improvement of my style and techniques on applying paints in traditional approach.

In 2019 before the COVID 19 pandemic, I joined the BSP Art Club and met several accomplished artists in the group.

On 7th June 2024, I received my first Certificate of Attendance and Completion for “The Art of Restoration and Conservation of Paintings and Paper”, Batch 1, conducted by Sanfo 101 and Assist. Professor Crisencio Paner, Ph.D. in Biological, who was a scholar of Art Restoration and Conservation by Italian Government and an experienced restorer for the past 23 years. On the other hand, I became a member of the Professional Art Restorers Society of the Philippines (PARSPA).

Nevertheless, I’m still developing my technique and artistic capability, its innovation and progress by maintaining conservative and conventional approach to contribute and inspire.
